It would seem that the blog and I are really going are seperate ways, I am finding myself uninspired and dull of late, but just for now I will write one more. The St Emilion part time job, has become a full time job, I am very happy to have full time work. It is far from home but David and I have worked out a plan that we hope shall work.
I feel very at home here in St Emilion with the grand view of the Dordogne Valley, veiws that stretch so far, I stand gazing outwould from the center of a vast circle of light and rolling hills, vines without end, and stone so beautiful to see and touch, it is no wonder the architects and builders created such great and splendid buildings. The sky is surely designed by God's angels, and remind me of the skies we were part of on the boat crossing the atlantic. Sea skies that swirl and shape themselves into feathers, circles, my paint brush could never do it justice sweeping and trailing off into the vast infinity. I stand in awe.
St Emilion itself is steeped in ancient history, there is an underground church that favoured a femine god and whose carvings and engravings I cannot wait to see, I am visiting there this morning. Apparantly the knight Templers would come here to be forgiven of their sins. Cheeky blighters.
The church that is in that stands in the village is quite beautiful and has become my sanctuary, I go to pray there at least twice a week.
The vines are turning and there has been a mad rush from the vinyards to do the harvest, everywhere you look tractors filled with grapes are busy taking a heavy load of sweet red grapes to be crushed. Grape pickers are filling the fields working very hard to finish the harvest, but for me the beauty of the vines changing colour is something I will never get bored with.
