As we gather on an alomst wet afternoon, on friday we had been blessed with sunshine, and on friday the weather report threatened us with rain and grey skies for the saturday. David and I pondered over the idea of having a tent, we couldn't exactly invite 150 people from all over the globe to come and celebrate our marriage with us and expect them to sit outside in the rain and eat. Reluctantly we paid for a tent, Thank the Lord, is all I can say.
A serious sort of moment, filled with anticipation and love, the civil cereomny, breif and to the point had been lovley, but now the garden filled with so many loved ones, the air filled with meaning, the knowing of what we were doing permeated my being, silence enveloped us and hope and faith and joy and love and thought and promise and blessings and god all waited in limbo for a brief moment, until Anne spoke. Vonny had sung Here there and everywhere by the Beatles as people gathered on the front lawn, she gave us a beautiful introduction, I will try put our Ceremony on my next blog.
I love this next peice from the Corintians, I find it so hard to be patient and often to be kind, especially when I am tired, I always need to be reminded of these words
‘Love is patient; love is kind;
love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice in wrong doing, but rejoices in the truth.
It bears all things, endures all things.
(1 Corinthians 13.4-7)
